Island-Hopping in the Cyclades: A Dream Trip to Mykonos, Paros & Antiparos
5/8/20242 min read
This summer, I had the chance to experience the magic of the Greek islands and what a dream it was!
Greece had always been on my list, but this trip to Mykonos, Paros, and Antiparos gave me a new level of appreciation for the country’s natural beauty, culture, and effortless charm.
In just one trip (7 days), I experienced glamorous beach clubs, traditional whitewashed villages, crystal-clear waters, and peaceful corners where time slows down (loved Antiparos because of that)
If you're dreaming of a Greek island adventure, this post might inspire your next escape!
First Stop:
Mykonos – Where Glamour Meets Tradition
Mykonos was our gateway into the Cyclades and it's easy to see why it's world-famous.
The island has a unique energy: luxury and local charm. You can spend the day lounging at stylish beach clubs like Psarou or Scorpios, then explore the maze of cobblestone streets in Mykonos Town by evening while enjoying local restaurants and shop for designer items.
We stayed close to the town center, which was perfect for walking to cafes, restaurants, and the iconic windmills at sunset. The only downside was that cars can't drive in there, so the taxi left us a bit far away from our apartment. We had to carry all our bags down the stairs, but hey, that's also part of the traveling experience! From our balcony we could watch the sky turn pink while getting ready for our dinner plans.
If you’re looking for nightlife, trendiness, and that classic “Greek island party vibe,” Mykonos delivers. But it also has quiet corners and boutique hotels perfect for couples or solo travelers!
Tip: Mykonos gets booked fast in high season... when I plan for clients, I help them get early access to great deals and avoid last-minute price spikes.

Paros – Effortlessly Beautiful and Relaxed
After the buzz of Mykonos, Paros felt like a gentle exhale. It’s one of those places that instantly makes you slow down.
First, we took the ferry to get there, and I must say it was a pleasant 45min. ride. The moment we arrived, we picked-up our rental car near in Paro's main port and drove to Koukoumavles... I personally really enjoyed this zone because of it's calm vibe, beautiful and affordable hotels and quite close to everything (the main port, Naoussa village, other beautiful villages like Lefkes and Aliki)
I really loved Naoussa's center, but it reminded me of Mykonos as the streets were really busy. Lefkes was definitely a personal favorite. I recommend going to "Lefkiano Restaurant", as I fell in love with its location, traditional greek food and lovely staff.
Paros was less crowded, more affordable, and still packed with incredible experiences. Whether you're into beach time, water sports, or village strolls, it's a well-rounded destination perfect for couples or families.
Need help choosing between Paros and other Greek islands? I match travelers with destinations based on their vibe and interests.
